How do I get the iPhone app?

It's in beta, delivered through Apple's free TestFlight app. On your iPhone, open the DoorFrame beta link, install TestFlight when asked, then accept the invite and tap Install. It takes about a minute. In TestFlight the app is listed as DoorFrameApp; it's the same DoorFrame.

You can keep using DoorFrame on the web too. Sign in on both and your family's sizes stay in sync. TestFlight collects some crash and usage data for us; see Privacy.

How does DoorFrame estimate sizes?

It learns how each child is growing from what you log, then matches that to size charts.

• Starting point: before you log anything, estimates come from typical growth for the child's age, based on published growth charts (WHO under age 2, CDC from 2).
• Learning your child: each height, weight, foot length, or size that fits tells DoorFrame whether your child runs bigger or smaller than typical and whether they tend to grow earlier or later. One entry helps; a few over time help more.
• Looking ahead: DoorFrame carries that pattern forward. The longer it's been since your last entry, the wider the range, which is why an estimate becomes a "Rough guess" after a while.
• From growth to a size: the estimate is compared with size charts to give the most likely size and the chances of the others.
• What it can't know: how a particular brand runs, or whether your kid likes things roomy. Fit notes help you remember.
• Private: estimates are calculated on your device. Nothing is sent anywhere to make one.
• Not medical: growth charts are used only to estimate clothing and shoe sizes, not to assess health or development.

What does "Rough guess" or "~" mean?

It's been a while since the last entry, so the child has probably grown by about a size or more since then. The person's page offers a quick check: one measurement or a size that fits brings their estimates up to date.

An estimate looks wrong. What should I do?

Log a recent measurement or a size that fits now; estimates always follow the newest information. If a size says "Check entries", two of your entries disagree. Open the person's entries to find and edit the one that looks off.

Do I need an account?

No. DoorFrame works fully offline and saves everything on your device. Signing in is optional: it backs up your data and lets your family share the same list across phones and the web.

How do I share with family?

Sign in, then go to Settings, then Account & family, and invite them. Invite links work once and expire after 7 days. To send sizes to someone who doesn't use DoorFrame, use the Share button on Home or on a person's page to send them by text or email.

How do I delete my data?

Signed in: go to Settings, then Account & family, and choose Delete account. Everything in a family that's just you is permanently removed. Not signed in: go to Settings and choose Delete all data on this device. See Privacy for details.

Is DoorFrame a medical app?

No. It uses growth charts only to estimate clothing and shoe sizes. It doesn't assess health or development; talk to your child's doctor about their growth.
